Inanimate Alice «Episode 3: Russia»
Well, I have already read the story about Alice in Russia that had been accompanied by strange music and I want to tell you about my impression. I followed the story carefully, my eyes scanned each screen from left to right, and I really enjoyed readying. The pictures were quite gloomy and scary, but they were exciting and fascinating at the same time. So you couldn’t stop following the arrows. Words appeared in different parts of the screen not very fast, so you can easily read them. But I absolutely dislike the music, because it was strange and even disgusting.
Most of all in episode 3 I liked that it seemed to be a real story and I worried about the heroine as about myself. I imagined what I would do if I were there.
There were nothing difficult for me in reading this story, except some unknown words, but there were not many of them.
The best bit about the story was game-parts where I should to catch matryoshkas, it was really funny.
In conclusion, I want to give other readers some tips for their first digital story reading. You shouldn’t hurry, try to understand and analyze what you had read and be sure you will enjoy the process.

It was interesting for me to meet this story ‘Inanimate Alice’. When I was reading the episode Russia, I paid attention to the plot, first of all. It was rather unusual. The narrator was a girl (Alice), whose face we didn’t see. Also, I have been staring at the pictures of this episode. Visual effects were no so good, but it was rather interesting to find the missing doll or matryoshka. But, I didn’t like the music. It was so strange with some unclear language. It was like a music from horror films, I suppose. Especially, I was scared of Alice’s screaming. It was unexpected.
I really enjoyed the idea of this episode. We can see a teenage girl, living in the foreign country who has no friends around her in her real life and the only friend is her Internet boy in the game. We can see first teenager love there. And that’s not all. Her father has problems with business in Russia and they have to run and hide around the World. It’s really cool plot.
For me, there wasn’t any difficulties while reading this episode. Everything was clear and easy to understand. But sometimes I couldn’t find the matryoshkas.
I suppose, the moment with school was the most interesting of this episode, because I could see, how foreigners see our schools. But, unfortunately, it's untrue. Also, this episode was bright unlike the rest dark episodes. Though, I can choose another interesting moment for me - it is game. I mentioned that you should have to find missing dolls.
In conclusion, I'd like to give a tip to future readers - just enjoy this episode of Inanimate Alice and read other episodes.

ОтветитьУдалитьWhen I started read the story (Episode 3) I paid attention to strange music. In my opinion, it distracted from reading and constantly moving pictures annoyed. All the pictures were dark as if they were some kind of horror. Most of all I didn’t like the sound throughout the story. It was interesting that during the whole story we were kept in suspense and we could not predict what would happen next, the author managed to interest the readers to finish the story to the end. Matryoshka episode turned out to be the most difficult and unsuccessful since the game was distracting while reading and I could not concentrate on the text. I liked the episode with the school, he was able to convey the whole atmosphere and many interesting details were shown here. And I also paid attention to the pictures, we could well imagine this school. I would like advise this story to students, it will be mysterious for them.

In episode 3, I liked the pictures most of all. Although they were gloomy, they were able to convey Alice's emotions and inner state. This is very important because I plunged into the atmosphere of events.
Unfortunately, I did not understand how to play Matryoshka. I was required to do something and the meaning of this game.
Most of all I liked the passage when Alice and her parents were stopped by a border guard. When I read the text I was worried about Alice because I wanted everything to be fine.

I’d like to tell about reading the episode 3, which is called «Russia» and it is one of the episodes of the «Inanimate Alice». When I was reading this story, I was excited, because it is about Alice’s life in Russia, in the country, where I live. That is why I had been reading the story with especial attention.
The most interesting things were pictures and animation. They show us the atmosphere of the episode. But I think that they were a little bit depressive, grey and dark. Russia isn’t so gloomy. Also I liked Alice’s description. She described us a lot of details, that’s why story was interesting and valuable.
Also it’s important to say about some difficulties in this episode. And it is music. During the story we can hear very strange music, sounds and voices. I suppose that Russia associates with such type of music. It was horrible, frightening, scaring and grimly. It is really a good idea to change it, for people’s calmness.
I think that moment with school’s description is my favorite. It’s really a dream school. We can notice how foreigners imagine Russian school. But unfortunately it isn’t true; our schools don’t look like this one. But I believe that one day we will have such schools, because it looks modern and it can help students to be more successful.
To sum up, I’d like to advice to future readers: read whole story (all episodes) carefully and enjoy their time during the Alice’s story.

ОтветитьУдалитьAs for me, I found Alice’s story and adventure in Russia quit interesting to read. I was reading this story very carefully; my eyes were scanning each screen from left to right. I tried not to miss any word, sentence or image of Matryoshka (I had chosen to read and play the game). Therefore, it was satisfying. I did not like the images of Moscow – they were very depressing, dark and even scary. It seemed to me that this atmosphere is more like a horror game. Moreover, the music was scary too. It was unbearable to listen to it; sometimes music and additional sounds were disturbing.
I liked most the story and finding Matryoshkas. The story of a girl, who is always travelling with her parents, is well presented. I had a feeling that I was reading Alice’s own thoughts. In addition, I liked the idea that the game with Matryoshka was a part of this story. If could not find a doll or if you dropped it that means that you cannot continue the story and you have to start this story again.
I did not have any difficulties while reading the story. Everything was clear and understandable.
The best bit about the story was the game. I liked it because this game is connected with Alice’s story and, to some extent, it affects story’s end.
At the end, I would like to give some tips to other readers. Don’t hurry when you read a story, don’t be upset if couldn’t find all Matryoshkas (you can see in which part you miss it on the right side of screen) and just enjoy this story.

When I was reading this story, I was excited and disappointed in the same time, because it is about Alice’s life in Russia. I supposed to see all the attractions of the Russia, but unfortunetly that was not so good as I expected.
The animation was great, but I expected to see somethin more bright. Also I want to mention the music. In my opinion It was to depressive, strange and even scary. I really liked Alice’s description. She told a lot of details, that’s why story was interesting and attractive.
In my opinion Russia must't be associated with such strange music and dark colors. It was really frightening.I want recomend to chage it to something more calm.
The episode in the school was the best one in my opinion, but unfortunetly it isn't true to show Rusiian schools like that.
In the end, I want to say that the story is not bad at all, but there are many thing that I want to change in this story.

Demonstration of school is quite difficult for understanding because there are very contrast and too bright colors. And they change each other very fast that is why it is hard to understand what is going on.
The best thing in this story is plot. Authors have create unusual story of growing up and travelings. So, I suppose that all parts of this story are really breathtaking and they can give some information about different cultural aspects of countries.
To sum up, I can give you a piece of advice for reading this digital story. You should turn off music if you are distracted by it. It definitely will help you to concentrate on the main subject. However, the atmosphere won`t be so realistic. It is up to you turn it off or on.

ОтветитьУдалитьI would like to share with you my experience reading about Inanimate Alice. Episode 3: Russia ,, since this is not quite the usual way of interpreting history. In this episode (and in other episodes) you will need to not only read, but also listen, and the matryoshka is always hidden in every new fragment of the story, which the reader needs to find. I consider this approach to story telling to be very good, since the music and sounds convey an appropriate atmosphere, although sometimes it was hard to accept music and sounds, and it also distracted written words. If we talk about the part that I liked the most difficult to select, something concrete, but the most memorable for me was the scene outside the window when the rainy city was shown. And I would also like to give advice, to those who will only watch this: try not to be distracted by other things, while watching this story, and also watch closely what is happening, since everything is interconnected with each other.

Actually, my name is Alisa and I was surprised to see the same name and that is not "Alice in Wonderland" so it was interest experience reading that.
It was difficult to understand what Alice thought about our country and what the feeling it was, did she like it or not...
In my opinion, the story about Siberia was the best because of I live there, in Novosibirsk and I wanted to know what people like Alice can say about this frosty region.

Speaking about the third episode, I can say that I really liked the atmosphere. It was creepy and mysterious.
When I first read the third episode, I found it difficult to play the Matryoshka game. At first, I did not undertand what to do and when to press the mouse button.
In my opinion, the best thing of the episode was the ending because I was really curious about Alice's future. Will there be any adventures and obstacles?

Recently I have read a digital novel called «Inanimate Alice». «Inanimate Alice» tells the story of Alice, who travels to different countries with her parents. Episode 3 showed Alice's life in Russia. It was very interesting to read comics and at the same time hear music and different sounds as well as play games. I was reading the story very carefully, focusing on the plot. Frankly speaking, the music was frightening and the pictures showed a dark city with quiet, frightening streets. I felt like I was watching a horror film.
Most of all I liked the music and animation, because they created a certain atmosphere. If I had read this story without music, I wouldn't have experienced such emotions.
For me the most difficult in reading the story was hearing loud voices in a strange language. In history, they tried to show the Russian language, but I think they failed.
In my opinion, the best part of this story was the end, Alice was sitting in the plane and looking at the beautiful sky with clouds, not hiding in the closet. She felt no fear; she was with her family and felt safe.
In conclusion, I'd like to give advice to future readers - read all episodes of Inanimate Alice, turn on the sound and enjoy the atmosphere of this novel.

I found the story about Alice in Episode 3 «Russia» very fascinating and intriguing to read, especially in the game form. Reading carefully, my eyes scanned each screen from left to right and I examined every scene of this episode. I followed the story, pressing the arrows and catching matryoshkas throughout the game. Sometimes the sounds seemed very creepy, but they added texture to the atmosphere. The images were cinematic and it helped me immerse into the plot. The words that appeared on the screen told a beautiful yet sad story of Alice’s life. What I liked most about Episode 3 is that I have never seen such approach of storytelling. The animation was well-done and this story kept me awe till the end. Because of the music and sounds it was difficult to follow what Alice was saying. But overall, I really liked how the story was conveyed even if it seemed depressing and sad at times. The best bit, in my opinion, was the feeling that this game gave me as if I was traveling myself, looking at all the pictures of Moscow and Siberia. What’s more, I really liked the game form of this. In conclusion, I would like to give some tips to those who will experience it for the first time – be very attentive and careful when reading this story, try not to get distracted by anything. This is very interesting and great idea. To play this game was very unusual and quite intense experience if I may say so. The whole entire atmosphere was a little frustrating and maybe even scary too. The hardest thing was to play the games during some episodes because I was completely into this story, was fully involved so it was a bit of distraction. The story itself was amazing! I almost felt like I watched a movie or read a comic book without spending too much time! I would recommend to prepare yourself for intense music before getting familiar with this story!

Moreover I find the plot very ridiculous as if it's normal for Russia, as if it happens every day here. And it offends me a little.
Most of all I liked the way of the story presentation. It's well done. It's a good idea to tell something and visualize it. Especially the games. I think a creator of this project has worked very hard.
Listening loud unpleasent sounds was difficult to read fo me.
As for me the best bit of the story is when Alice and her parents were on the plane's board, because I have finally heard the calm song.
To sum up I'd like to give some tips to other readers: be attentive and try to immerse into the plot.

This story was...interesting. And a little bit scary. As if i'm playing horror game. Submission of photos and video fragments filed in an unusual style. The musical accompaniment was very strange, but I tried to make out the words that were there, and I did some good.
Most of all I liked the mention of Siberia and the polaroid photos from the school.
So, this story is interesting to read - it leaves an unusual sensation. Even though I'm not a fan of a horror stories, this story was quite acceptable.

I have read through the third episode of the digital novel Inanimate Alice titled "Russia" and now I am going to tell you about my impressions.
While following the story I had to read the text that appeared on the screen, press the arrows to continue the story and play some mini-games.
What I enjoyed about this experience is the feeling that I got while reading this digital novel. The atmosphere of the story was quite creepy and unsettling and the music really helped achieve that. Another thing that I liked about Inanimate Alice is that once the text appeared on the screen you could spend as much time as you need reading it and that was helpful for better understanding of the story.
But during the episode in each scene you had to play a little mini-game to collect a matryoshka which are needed to finish the episode. And in some scenes it was difficult to see the dolls or even if I could see them there just wasn't enough time to click on them before they disappeared. I often had to try multiple times to successfully finish the mini-game.
For me the best thing about the story was the music. It was the most memorable thing about the episode and it suited it very well.
So, in conclusion, my tip for readers for their first digital story reading experience is to wear headphones so you could get into the atmosphere of the digital novel.

ОтветитьУдалитьThe idea of the gamestory seems to me really interesting and It’s quite captivating when you are able to contact with the different objects. I played ‘Matrioshka’, clicked arrows and read the story. I really enjoided this form of reading.
I cannot say that I find something difficult, but the sounds and music really made me feel quite uncomfortable. Also some moments about the reality of our contry seem to me quite strange at least I think that the majority of our schools look in totally different way.
The final part of story is my favorite. It seems to me not so colourless as others and the atmosphere there much more better.
If somebody plays such story the first time, the person shoul carefully choose the right form of the gaming such as playing or just reading.

I would like to tell you about my opinion of the story Inanimate Alice episode 3. According to the plot, Alice is a foreigner in Russia, where she has to hide out in her bedroom closet and her family has to run because of her father’s business problems .
As for me, all this story is very strange and a bit frightening because of its dark pictures, child’s scream in the background, and music like in horror movies.
I don’t like this story, as firstly most of bad things, described by Alice in this episode,are happening in my country. Secondly, the school and its students which are shown in this episode don’t look like in the Russian school. Finally, this story doesn’t learn us anything, and has only the elements of violence, crime and betrayal.
Although the story is scary, the episod is clear and there are no any difficulties to understand it, because the narrator, Alice, tells us everything properly with the help of the text on the screen.
I enjoyed the idea of describing this story, as I can play the game or just read the slides on the screen. As for me, I felt excited and a bit frightened every time. But I found it difficult to understand the episode with Matryoshka.
The best bit about the story was the end of the episod, as the narrator leaves the open final and you think what will happen with Alice next time.
In conclusion, I want to give other readers some tips for their first digital story reading. You should pay attention to the text and the exercises in the episod which will help you to reach the final.

I had to scan each screen from left to right by my eyes and follow the arrows to complete the actions and continue the story. It was very interesting except the disgusting sounds and the music which was the story accompanied by. Actually the story reminded me a horror movie because of the scary pictures and text font. All in all, I like the game where I should collect the Matrioshka dolls and the plot of the story was exiting. There were nothing difficult for me in reading this story, except some unknown words, but there were not many of them. The moment with school was the most interesting of this episode, because I could see, how foreigners see our schools. But, unfortunately, it's untrue. ОтветитьУдалитьWhile reading/playing “Inanimate Alice: Episode 3” I experienced fragment of unusual life of Alice, girl who is narrating most of the story in this episode. Starting this story in the middle was quite troublesome, without knowing motives of character it is hard to empathize about them. OST of the game was trying to be spooky and corrupted. Because of all of this confusion I read first half of the story quite fast, without looking out for details, waiting for some explanation.
The most joyful part of Episode 3 was writing 1,5 pages essay about components of the Visual Novel (or Digital story, as dispace calling it). I never thought there is a 15-minute VN that would fire me up that much.
As I said earlier first half of the story was a mess, from my point of view, that to be expected if you, for example, open a new book at a middle and start reading it. The school part where we were showed a photos/video-clips of school life were hard to look at, video-effects gave it unusual feeling, but IMHO it was just a bad experience for my eyes.
The part in the closet hit hard. As a child the outside world is so vast and everlasting, so Alice’s cpmment about coziness of a closet felt real. The world of closed is finite and understandable. The world where only you and your device exist.
The most important tip and the most repeated point that I’m making never read from middle of a story (reading from ending is sometimes acceptable). But also one should be more acceptable with his first experience with VN(DS). It’s structure is different from books and movies, good VN can never be fully adapted to neither of them, so most of a time it worth to read them.

I felt so strange because of scary music, melody, songs and different kinds of sounds: shouts, arguing people and others. I didn’t like their house, there were few lamps and it looked like abandoned house.
I really enjoyed the game where I was to collect matryoshkas. It was the part that I liked most of all, because it was really funny.
I didn’t find anything difficult. Everything was clear and I could understand it easily.
The last episode was the best bit of the story. Because it was the most exciting and emotional one.
And my tips for other readers for their first digital story reading experience: follow the screens, read the text carefully and try to find all matryoshkas and collect them.

ОтветитьУдалитьI’ve read the story about Alice in Russia it is a third episode of Inanimate Alice. I was expecting some kind of challenge in text complexity or in collecting the dolls or at least some visual tricks so I could miss them and because of that, I looked at all the backgrounds and all texts simultaneously since I’m used to focusing on the whole monitor instead of single parts of it. Well, the music wasn’t as annoying as everyone said and pictures and animations couldn’t be better because of Flash limitations also the game would lag more and more as time goes on. The story felt rushed and incomplete. I enjoyed the stereotypical Russian environment it’s absurd and that what makes it enjoyable. There was nothing difficult about reading there weren’t that much text on screen at a single time and at places where the transition is automatic it gives plenty of time to read. The best bit about the story was the ending, because it summed up the story, forced you to have all matryoshka dolls and made me chuckle because you can bribe Russian guards with dolls. As for tips, do people really need tips on how to read a book? Just read the text and keep your hand on the mouse in case there will be something to click or react to.

ОтветитьУдалитьFirstly, i read the story inattentively and just wathced in the screen. But it turned out that i had to read it for the second time because i did not understand the whole plote. Sounds in this story are quite strange or i would even say unpleasnt, but it is just my opinion. However, i like images, atmosphere and the style of narration.
I like how the story is told. It was pretty intersting because while reading you want to now what will happen in the end. And i like dark atmospher.
I think the most difficult thing is finding Matryoshkas because you have to pay a lot of attention to the screen and yoy should not concentarte on one place, cause it can wherever on the screen.
Anyway, my favorite episode is when Alice is talking about her life; her new apartment, school, parents and why theuy moved to Moscow.
It is defently fine expirience to read the digital story despite it was quite strange. I think these stories can be more popular if they have more nice production and decor.

I have just finished reading “Episode 3: Russia,” Inanimate Alice and I would like to share some thoughts about it. Reading it was really interesting because each screen was accompanied with music and visuals that helped me fully experience the atmosphere of the story. Sometimes I felt tense and disturbing because sounds and images were frightening (sounds of scream, singing and city landscapes)
One thing I liked the most was the game that you have to play while reading. It implies collecting Russian dolls with cursor. And the most repellent thing was "sitting" in the closet in the dark. I felt a little bit scared back then.
For those who is going to read Inanimate Alice I would like to advise 2 things :
First, pay attention to the Russian dolls. You need them to finish the story
Second, don't just read the story, let it go through you and make you feel like you are the Alice. (For that one you better use headphones)
I would recommend everyone to read the Inanimate Alice because it's an interesting fascinating story

ОтветитьУдалитьWhile I was reading this story I've really enjoyed he story about Alice's travel to Russia. Actually, I live in Russia so I was interested about Alice's impressions about this country but, unfortunately, there were not some words about them.
Let's talk about the whole style of storytelling. The pictures have an original style, but the music is horrible and creepy. The atmosphere reminds me some horror. Also there were some interactive moments like catching matryoshka or customization of Alice’s player.
Anyway, this interactive story was a really unusual experience for me because I’ve never seen something like this on the Internet.

Well, I have read the third episode about Alice in Russia, and I wanted to share my impression with you. I followed the story carefully, however, it was difficult at the beginning because of the spooky sounds, my eyes scanned each screen from left to right, and everything was clear. The images were very depressing, gloomy and oppressive, as well as the sound.
I enjoyed reading this story, because there were some new words, and the story was quite interesting and exciting in some moments.
There were no difficulties in reading, but it was hard at first, because I was distracted by the music.
I think that catching the matryoshkas was the best bit because it was quite fascinated, when I understood what should I do.
Finally, I want to give other readers some tips for their first digital story reading. You shouldn’t hurry, it’s nothing bad if you didn’t get something from the first time. You should read the story carefully, paying attention to its plot.

Inanimated Alice is a game in which you immerse yourself in the life of a character and walk with him in the footsteps of his life.
In our case, Alice. This is a girl who lives in Russia, but I am attracted to a foreigner. Through the passage of the episodes, we learn about her adventures. Some moments are very interesting and fascinating, such as picking up the matryoshkas in a video game. And the others are frightening. For example, when Alice is sitting in the closet, or playing strange music. The interesting thing is that you sort of immerse yourself in the life of a character. You look at the world through his eyes.
Of course it's hard to say exactly what Alice feels. Throughout the game, we see episodes, but not her face.
Inanimated Alice has many features. You can go through different episodes, each with its own task and subject. Interestingly, thanks to the audio and video effects of computer graphics, we are transported to a completely different world. It is strange that I learned about this game only at the ICT lesson. Since I think that this game is quite interesting and deserves due attention. I think she could be popular.
Of the minuses only that it is impossible to make the episode description faster. And I would work on the panache. And the rest of this game can attract a younger audience, which is good.

Since this story was shown to me in the genre of the quest, I was very interested and I read every line of text carefully. The only negative was the sound in the background was very strange and was added to the mysteriousness and fear in the story. Most of all I liked the fact that the creators of the episode tried on the music and images on the screen, which helped me to feel the emotions of Alice. Also it was interesting to take part in the game Matryoshka. The text was not complicated and easy to read. I was involved in this whole head thing, and it felt like I was in that closet with Alice. It was not difficult to read the text. But the music was constantly straining and scaring me, especially in the episode "Quiet".
Most of all I liked the part of the story where Alice was hiding in the closet. At this point, she told me a little about herself, she showed me her player, and even gave me a fun game. When Alice was in the closet, I felt that she was afraid, and music in the background was given to understand it.
I would advise readers of these stories not to forget to include the sound, as it conveys the mood of the heroine and the overall situation at the moment. Also, you should carefully read each sentence, so you better remember the information, and will understand the whole story.

I did not like the episode because the music was too overwhelming and it was unpleasant. I read the story each screen from left to right. The picture was average in quality. I liked the game in episode 3. It was interesting, but game hung up. It was a difficult read because of the music. The best part of the story was how Alice gave the player to the guard because it was funny and brave. Reading digital stories you need to learn quickly. If you do not know the translation of a word, then write it in the dictionary and remember.

Well, during this story I had to follow the text. My eyes scanned the words from left to right. Sounds and pictures were very helpful, because I could forget the translation of some words.
Mostly, I liked the atmosphere of this game. I was interested in a process of playing. I don’t remember the most difficult part of Episode 3. However, I can say that there were some unknown words, which were the main ones in the sentences and that was difficult. The best bits were in the end. There were happening scared things and it kept attention of every reader.
I think that I could advice to play it and play it with headphones. Moreover, it would be better for you to read the first episodes and the whole story too. Just forget about anything around you and enjoy the story
That was an interesting experience to read (and play) such thing. Personally, I read this from the left side of screen to right, trying to find and catch every detail. The music was also really interesting and kind of depressing what creates a really specific atmosphere during reading.
ОтветитьУдалитьMost of all I like music, it’s really moving and it helps to feel Alice’s emotions. I found difficult to collect all the Matryoshkas to finish the game, that’s why I turned back and chose reading instead of gaming.
The best scene was the last one, when the family leaves Moscow and they must stop on the boundary. It’s really emotional, entertaining and absorbing moment.
As for tips, I think readers should be prepared that it’s not a game, book or movie, it’s combination of them. That’s why this type of reading (digital) absorbs you and makes you feeling all the actions happening during the storyline.

When I finished reading "episode 3" I was a little bit frustrated, can't say why. I guess complex of music and pictures was playing with my mind or something. But I still very liked the atmosphere.
ОтветитьУдалитьI like the way how story is told. It is classical visual novel, i played a few of those, the can be extremely interesting.
I was always interested in unusal settings or types of telling a story and "episode 3" is showing an another way of that. I was like frozen in front of my computer. Of course it is nothing special about functionality as it always is among visual novels but I still feel strange and curious about this project.
